Maybe the delayed training camp won't be so bad for Carmelo Anthony.
The Knicks forward revealed more elements to his mysterious offseason, disclosing last night he had knee and elbow surgery simultaneously in May. Anthony disclosed the surgeries after playing 48 minutes and dropping 31 points with 17 rebounds last night at the sweaty Palestra in a lockout-inspired barnstorming-tour loss.
The Knicks never announced the procedures. Anthony said he had arthroscopic surgery on the left knee and an elbow procedure, as he suffers from chronic bursitis.

J. Cole Covers Complex's "Cole World" Week
So...Cole got a classic? Roc Nation rapper J. Cole's long-awaited debut album Cole World: The Sideline Story drops tomorrow, but the response to the early leak has so far been overwhelmingly positive. Complex has been on Jermaine's team since 2009, when we first interviewed him ** two weeks before his critically-acclaimed mixtape The Warm Up dropped. It's been a long journey but the album is finally here.
To mark the occasion, Complex linked up with Cole to shoot a special animated cover for the internets, celebrating a full week of special features. Today we're kicking things off with a cover story by Complex staff writer Damien Scott, who has a special perspective on the rapper's career—he was Cole's college friend and roommate, and was by his side for some of his early struggles to get noticed. Read the revealing feature now, and check back all week for more Jermaine jewels...
81yr Old Crack Dealing Grandma Gets Arrested
Meet Ola Mae Robinson.
The 81-year-old Alabama woman was arrested this week for allegedly selling crack cocaine from her home in Prichard, a city outside Mobile. Cops reported that a search Wednesday of the octogenarian’s home turned up cocaine and prescription pills that she was peddling.
As seen in the above mug shot, Robinson appeared to be wearing a neck pillow when she was booked into the county jail.
T-Mobile: 90 Percent of 2011 Smartphone Sales Were Android, 'Ball Is In Apple's Court For iPhone 5'
T-Mobile's CMO Cole Brodman revealed that over 75 percent of his company's phones sold in 2011 were smartphones, with 90 percent of those powered by Google's green little robots (read: Android). In a sense, that's not too shocking given the carrier's current portfolio, but it's still a truly dominating figure. We're going out on a limb and guessing that the other 10 percent are enterprise BlackBerry users, mixed in with a few enigmatic renegades for good measure. When asked about other platforms, like RIM, the CMO mentioned he was hopeful for a comeback from the latest crop of Canuck-sourced BlackBerry devices. He also noted that video was responsible for over half the traffic on T-Mob's 4G network. Finally, when asked about the iPhone 5, Brodman responded coyly: "the ball is in Apple's court. [We'd] love to have the iPhone... whenever Apple lets us know." In other words, don't bank on a T-Mob iPhone early next month. Endgadget
Doritos Chips Creator, Arch West, Dies At Age 97
Arch West, a retired Frito-Lay marketing executive credited with creating Doritos as the first national tortilla chip brand, has died in Dallas at age 97.
A statement issued by the West family says he died Tuesday at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. A graveside service is scheduled for Oct. 1. Daughter Jana Hacker of Allen tells The Dallas Morning News the family plans on "tossing Doritos chips in before they put the dirt over the urn."
West was a marketing vice president for Dallas-based Frito-Lay in 1961 when, while on a family vacation near San Diego, he found a snack shack selling fried tortilla chips. Hacker says her father got a tepid corporate response to the tortilla chip idea but conducted marketing research that led to the Doritos rollout.
