ATF Trash BlackBerry For iPhones And iPads

Politico reports today on another government agency in the US that has decided to replace departmental BlackBerrys with iPhones, following on from NOAA’s decision to do just that. This time it’s the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives who have decided to abandon RIM’s handset.

“We’re going to delete the BlackBerry from the mix,” the ATF’s chief information officer Rick Holgate told Politico, adding that the move to replace approximately 3,800 BlackBerrys should take “probably no more than a year.”

A 14-year-old boy shot his mother 'at least ten times' as she slept on the couch.

The teen, named by family members as Joshua Smith, from east Detroit, allegedly unleashed a hail of bullets on Tamiko Robinson, 36, in the early hours of Monday morning, according to a police spokesman.

Smith, who was on the swimming team at Kettering High School, was said to be angry that his mother had tried to keep him off the streets and away from a gang.
