Did Drake Diss Jay-Z And Kanye West On ‘Im On One?’

Yesterday a new track from DJ Khaled’s upcoming We The Best Forever album hit the web and it immediately caused quite a few rumbles on the Hip-Hop circuit. The Track is amazing might I add, Drake’s verse is exceptional but never once did I think he was taking shots at Jay or Kanye. According to MTV Rap Fix, there is a subliminal in there.

On the record “I’m On One” featuring Drake, Lil Wayne and Rick Ross, Drizzy had listeners hitting the playback after his verse when he referenced a familiar album backed by two powerhouse rappers.

“Hate the rumors hate the bulls–t hate these f—in allegations/im just feelin like the throne is for the taking. Watch me take it.”
Could the “throne” that Drake is referring to be the same throne that Jay-Z and Kanye West are currently warning competitors about on their upcoming album Watch The Throne? Did Drake send a subliminal shot at Hov and ‘Ye?
Although both Kanye and Drake have acknowledeged a competitive rivalry exists between the two, nothing ever spilled on wax to date. In regards to Jay-Z, Drizzy has maintained from day one that the Brooklyn born MC serves as a mentor to him.
Earlier this year while overseas Drake spoke with famed DJ Tim Westwood and one of the topics of discussion was Jay and Kanye’s Watch The Throne album. At the time, the news of the album came just months following Drake’s revelation that he and Wayne were plotting to release a similar project of their own following Weezy’s release from jail.
“I heard two other guys are coming out with an album together, too” Drake told Tim Westwood. “There’s two other rappers are coming out with an album together. I don’t know where they got that idea but … I caught wind of it through the grapevine that there’s some other album with two guys rapping on it.”
Clearly the “two guys” Drake was referring to were none other than Jay-Z and Kanye West. But what’s not clear is if Drake took his emotions and poured them out on wax on “I’m On One.”
