Adele Goes Diamond, Tops Billboard Charts Again

Another day, another post about Adele’s chart reign. ‘Rolling In The Deep’ held the top spot spot for seven weeks and now the British singer has another hit on her hands as her second single ‘Someone Like You’ has raced up the charts after her moving VMAs performance. The emotional ballad, in which the singer comes to terms with a breakup, shot up from 19 to #1, knocking previous chart topper (Maroon 5/Christina Aguilera duet) ‘Moves Like A Jagger’ to second place.

“Someone Like You” leaps 11-1 on Hot Digital Songs with 275,000 downloads sold (up 191%), according to Nielsen SoundScan. On Hot 100 Airplay, the track blasts 42-19 with 46 million all-format audience impressions (up 59%), according to Nielsen BDS.

Adele’s sophomore album ’21′ has also been raking in the accolades. After being lauded by critics and consumers, and hitting #1 in 19 countries, it has now gone on to diamond status worldwide (10 million) and will most likely go on to hit 13 million sales.

When she’s not slaying the charts, Adele can be found flexing her smizing skills on magazine covers: she graced the covers of Q and Out magazine earlier this year and this time around, she’s featured in Vogue UK’s October issue.
