24-hour Cupcake ATM’s Coming To NYC

Craving something sweet at crazy hours of the night? Usually a late night deli run would do, but for those craving day-time snacks at night, a bakery in Manhattan is rolling out 24-hour cupcake ‘ATM’s’.

Called “cupcake automats, the cupcake ATM’s, stocked with Sprinkles Cupcakes, are planned for midtown, downtown and the upper West Side, with the first cupcake dispenser arriving this summer.

Company founder Candace Nelson, a judge of Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars,” said she got the idea when powerful after-hour cravings struck during one of her pregnancies.

“I thought there has to be a way, and so the concept of 24-hour Sprinkles was born,” Nelson told The News.

“Oh, yes. Oh, yes, I’d use it. New Yorkers don’t like to wait, especially if a sweet tooth strikes,” said Genice Hale, 45, a financial sales rep from Hollis, Queens. reachnyc
